POSITION DESCRIPTION :|
This position works with the Supervisor of Facilities in performing duties required in the maintenance, trouble shooting, repairing, and improvement of all Clemson University Athletic Department facilities and fields. Will assist in set-up and breakdown for all competitions and any preparation needed before each athletic event and facility rental.
Responsible for maintenance, repair and operation of all athletic facilities.
Supervise student help and implement changing lights, air handling filter changes, any clean up, i.e. pressure washing, painting, dry wall repair, fixing windscreens, gates, fountain maintenance and repair, concrete repair, locker repair, and bleacher repairs etc. in the following facilities: Memorial Stadium, West Endzone of Memorial Stadium, Littlejohn Coliseum, Annex in Littlejohn Coliseum (including practice gym), Doug Kingsmore Stadium (including Champman Grandstands in left field), Riggs Soccer Stadium, Vickery Hall, Jervey Athletic Center, McFadden Building, Norman Outdoor Track, Indoor Track, Hoke Sloan Tennis Center, Hoke Sloan Tennis Center Pavilion, Indoor Tennis Center, Fike Swimming, Rowing Boathouse, Rowing Training Center, R.W. Robinson Golf building, and the airport hanger. E/35%
Responsible for assisting in set-up and breakdown or all athletic facilities for athletic and non athletic competitions. (Including installation of astro turf in the indoor track, installation of two basketball courts in the indoor track, installation of four basketball goals in Jervey Gym for basketball camp, weekend set up and breakdown work for basketball games and practices, Jervey Gym Rentals and events, President Box, Tiger Den, West Endzone, Track Meet rentals, baseball stadium rental, and installation and removal of the rowing course) E/25%
Perform off season maintenance on all facilities which includes pressure washing, painting, trash removal, weed removal, various repairs, general cleaning and blowing of facilities, checking lights and other general maintenance for recruiting. E/20%

Supervise student worker performing general maintenance duties (painting, cleaning, setting up facilities etc.) E/5%
Work closely with the university Facilities Maintenance Operations and sub contractors to complete special work requests. E/5%
Work all home football games. Supervise and responsible for football parking set up and breakdown. (This includes putting out assigned parking number s in designated areas across campus, turning on lights, unlocking and locking gates, and scheduling the designated times for student help with football parking.) Also, must assist with all aspects of game day operations and set up. (This including any last minute cleaning, turning on lights, opening up facilities for the public, problem solving any issues that arise, unlocking various areas, assisting with the running down of the hill, and assisting with the lowering and raising of the goal posts.) A high school diploma and trade experience that is directly related to athletic facilities management. REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid driver's license.
PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
College degree in a related field.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE :
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 04 ($ 26,139.00 - $ 48,361.00)
Requires evening and weekend hours depending on athletic event and facility rentals.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS :
Individual would report to and be assigned by the Supervisor of Facilities, but would operate independently as a project manger (i.e. supervising and utilizing the student workforce and setting up a facility for competition, remodeling all facilities, general maintenance of facilities, and preparing all facilities before each season (pressure washing, bleacher, repair, etc.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Must have general handyman skills (with experience in minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and cleaning), knowledge of athletics/athletic stadiums and the ability to follow directions (complete proper set-up and break-down from start to finish for all events).
