We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer with Health Insurance or Third Party Administrator experience, to be located in either our Seattle, WA or Mokena, IL office. Primary responsibilities include: strategy development, project execution, financial management, and operational partnership. The role will align and integrate the various Zenith American Solutions (ZAS) entities into a single, centralized, efficient and cost effective organization and will work in partnership with the executive team to conceive, develop and implement technology strategies that integrate and modernize the ZAS technology landscape.
The CIO will provide constant and consistent communications, clear expectations, and "spot-on" execution. The individual must possess a highly consultative approach and relationship building skills that inspire and empower the organization to change and move forward. We are seeking an "A" player and a leader with proven capabilities to carefully navigate the demands of IT integration activities, technology modernization/innovation, customer enhancements and maintenance and support activities with grace and ease.
Lead the creation and execution of the two legacy companies' IT integration that achieves and exceeds synergy expectations.
Lead the planning and execution of the multiple Claims Conversion activities onto a single platform. Collaborate with the Corporate Claims Center of Excellence Conversion Steering Committee.
In collaboration with the Corporate CIO, develop a ZAS business IT strategy that aligns with business needs and corporate architectural direction.
Drive the centralization of IT and build a high performance IT team that provides continued support of business activities, as well as the execution of the integration, and strategic realization. This organization should realize synergies quickly though shared services overlap/redundancy. Upgrade the skills and talents of the team to achieve substantially higher quality, better productivity, greater leadership, and expert delivery and execution.
Collaborate on and execute on the corporate Data Center Strategy that achieves an ROI payback within 24 months.
Strategy & Planning:
The preparation and presentation of the IT strategic business plan for ZAS that is in alignment with the overall corporate technology strategy.
Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on all technology platforms with a focus on Claims, Pension, and Contribution Accounting Systems.
Provide the cultural change management leadership that will drive innovation, creative thinking and business partnership.
Plan timeframes and required resources to support initiatives.
Ensure the delivery of high quality production support as well as other business services, focusing on long-term performance requirements of the company.
Provide leadership in achieving IT service excellence both internally and externally.
Meet with new and existing customers to determine requirements and recommend improvements / upgrades / changes / enhancements.
Lead project implementation of agreed upon solutions and new systems providing input on acquiring new technology, where appropriate.
Proven ability to drive reductions in IT run rate costs and any associates IT costs due to business growth.
Demonstrate superior, engaged and sustainable leadership characteristics in the development of teamwork throughout the IT organization.
Provide timely, accurate and objective feedback.
Serve as a role model for continuous improvement and service commitment.
Proven ability to attract and retain top notch IT talent.
Proven experience with a heterogeneous technology environment with Mainframe, Client Server, and Web capabilities that has grown through acquisition and targeted investments.
Knowledge and abilities to strategize plan and execute systems consolidations / conversions.
120+ IT staff, located in numerous offices and some working remotely from home offices.
Multiple custom and 3rd party systems for contribution accounting/eligibility / pension administration; medical claims processing; EDI; telephone, IVR and reporting.
Multiple Company and client websites.
Technologies - COBOL, Web, EDI, SSRS, SQL, Clarity Reports, Crystal Reports.
Supported platforms - LAMP, Windows, Linux, AS/400, Open VMS.

Chief Information Officer Requirements for Chief Information Officer:
Ten to fifteen plus years of progressive responsibility within a Health Insurance or Third Party Administrator with working knowledge of Claims, Contribution Accounting Systems, and / or Pension Systems.
Prior experience managing a large, decentralized staff.
Demonstrated legacy and emerging technology experience.
Proven Influencing skills.
Proven communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal / partnership skills.
Hands on experience with IT systems conversions.
Experience within a large and complex matrixed organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performance teams with strong accountability standards.
Experience with consolidating data centers and disaster recovery is a plus
Overnight travel required a minimum of 50% of the time.
