This position is responsible for leading the strategic and tactical development of production and inventory plans that drive business objectives in the areas customer service, inventory management, product obsolescence and new product introductions for the Footcare Strategic Business Unit within Merck Consumer Care.
Supply Planner works closely with Demand Planning in developing long-range production requirements.
This individual will work with the Supply Planning Manager and production sites to develop the longer-range smoothed production plans and analyze long-term (rough cut) capacity requirements at the aggregate level by month, by department.
The Supply Planner will be responsible for developing effective production plans for all finished goods products sourced from assigned manufacturing locations. The Supply Planner will work closely with the Master Scheduler to hand-off the weekly plan (Weeks 12 and out) into the detailed scheduling process and address capacity concerns as needed.
Provides Marketing organization customized analysis, as requested, to identify financial and production implications of changes in product portfolio, including artwork, formulations and pack sizes.
Supply Planner plays an important role in communicating updates to all levels of the organization.
Represents Supply Chain Planning in project team meetings for new product launches
BA/BS college degree or its equivalent.
Five plus years of experience in the packaged goods/consumer products industry, including four years of supply planning experience at a Headquarter Level.
- APICS Certification
- Knowledge of SAP/APO 5.0 and R3
