The Light Duty Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light construction vehicles and equipment. This position may supervise apprentice workers engaged in vehicle and equipment repair work. Detailed Description Inspect light vehicles and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Repair light construction vehicles and equipment such as large volume pumps and compressors, passenger vans, light duty pickup trucks, welding trucks, medium duty service trucks, and other auxiliary equipment. Adjust, repair, and replace engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, breaks, suspension, steering, and transmissions. Disassemble and assemble vehicles and equipment parts using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools and instruments. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes in accordance with maintenance schedules. Operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose and ensure operating efficiency. Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Maintain vehicle maintenance records. Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area. Supervise apprentice workers engaged in light vehicle and equipment repair work. Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures. Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations. Job Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years related training and experience required. A combination of training and experience may substitute the diploma requirement. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification may be required.
