Our factory-trained Service Technicians represent the very best of Hexagon Metrology! Our customers rely on their professionalism and technical expertise to provide onsite installations and service for all types of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), machine tools and accessories; and calibration of CNC machines. Our technicians troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machine mechanics, electronics and pneumatics at customer sites throughout the Defense, Aerospace, Automotive, Heavy Equipment, and Oil & Gas industries.
Required Background and Skills
A.S. in Electronics/Electronics Technology OR equivalent training received in the military:
OR equivalent combination of education and experience in repair and calibration of machine tools
Basic knowledge of electronics hand tools and ability to read schematics
Ability to navigate within Windows NT, 2000, XP, 7 Operating Systems
Basic understanding of how file transfer protocol (FTP) works
Ability to work effectively and independently w/minimal supervision
Effective interpersonal skills and team mentality
Strong customer service and communications skills
Good organizational skills and flexibility
Willingness to travel
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Electronics background preferred
Basic understanding of 3D volumetric accuracy and repeatability preferred
Experience with high-precision equipment preferred
Tools used in this job
- Experience in repair of machine tools
- Demonstrated understanding of 6 DOF and/or machine geometry
- Ability to be creative and think beyond a standard approach to a problem
- Experience in troubleshooting software and utilities to tune control systems/error map 6 DOF
- Vision Machine knowledge (OGP, Tesa, Mycrona) helpful
- Basic PC-DMIS programming knowledge helpful
- Experience using Renishaw, Tesa, Precitec probing systems (scanning, vision, white light) helpful
- Knowledge of setup for HP and Renishaw laser and optic systems for use in error mapping CMM and other machine tools a plus!
