This senior position provides proactive leadership, direction, and motivation to the Operation's team in the fulfillment of the company's vision, mission, and objectives to provide an outstanding customer experience at the lowest cost. The Director is accountable for operational performance encompassing order to door service, quality, efficiency, and cost. The ability to effectively engage people and collaborate across all levels and functional departments, as well as to coach and provide candid feedback in developing their collective team is critical. A strong financial aptitude and the ability to prepare and manage the operations and transportation P&L, as well as drive relevant dashboard reporting to ensure full visibility will be key. Finally, ensuring a culture of personal growth and development, continuous process improvement, recognition and reward, and empowerment and overall fun will align with the overall corporate strategy. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a safe work environment by improving processes and methods that minimize or eliminate safety hazards; promoting a safety culture through management support and awareness and prompt follow-up to accidents and near-misses.Establish "stretch' goals for managers and supervisors that improve operating efficiencies, control and reduce costs, meet or exceed quality and service objectives, and promote talent development.Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team. Responsible for meeting staffing and equipment needs to fulfill project and business goal requirements.Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of department's financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals. Establishes key performance indicators (KPI) for management information and review.Continuously examines customer service trends and determines tangible actions to drive exceptional customer service levels. Responsible for team and individual development of managers including coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management. Make recommendations concerning promotions, transfers, and new hires.Ensure that supervisors and managers provide hourly associates with solid training to perform their jobs in a safe and efficient manner.In partnership with Human Resources, is responsible for the application of company policies, and takes necessary steps to take disciplinary action to address violations of company work rules or policies in areas of responsibility.Actively serve as a champion for continuous improvement in operations by implementing new and innovative methods that improve quality, cost, and efficiency.Responsible for all facilities management including building security and maintenance.Establish and maintain effective working relationships laterally, upward and through the front lines, among all functions/departments in order to accomplish the Company's mission and strategic goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Distribution, Business Management, or related areas of study preferred.* Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience that includes leading and managing in a B2C fulfillment center or other fast-paced distribution operation.* Proven track record of quality and process improvements to include but not be limited to Lean processing methods, Six Sigma, and/or Kaizen events.* Proven track record of driving strong customer experience through collaboration with merchandising, marketing, as well as value added innovation.* Strong understanding of facilities management. Building renovation experience a plus.* Ability to develop direct reports and drive succession planning.* Strong financial analytical skillset.* Proven leadership skills in the areas of communicating a vision, implement business strategy, managing and growing talent, team building, and conflict management.* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable effective communications with all levels of the organization (upward, lateral, frontlines)* Excellent organizational skills - able to prioritize and plan projects and activities, allocate resources, and achieve results.* Ability to swiftly adapt to ever-changing environments.* Ability to identify problems and develop sustainable solutions.* Possesses a sense of ethics and an interpersonal and management style that lends itself to promoting a positive and empowered work culture. * Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to least the Intermediate level. Knowledge of Access desired. Strong analytical and presentation skills using tools such as graphs, tables and charts.* Able to travel as business needs require.
