Additional Salary Information: Will work a minimum of 40 hrs in a 2 week payperiod, but will be scheduled to meet the needs of the department and may work as many as 80 hrs.

Special Information:
Will be scheduled a minimum of 40 hours in a two week payperiod, however, may be scheduled up to 80 hours in case of facility needs. Will work as a relief employee.

Duties:
A Laundry Worker performs general laundry duties under the direction of the Laundry Supervisor. Collects, sorts, and weighs laundry; Washes and dries various types of laundry; Folds, transports, and stores clean laundry; Mends sews, irons, dyes, and marks laundry items; Cleans and sanitizes laundry equipment and machinery and laundry work and storage area. Use household and commercial washers and dryers, cart sanitizing washer gun, and sheet folder. Works with resident workers.

Competencies:
.
Ability to lift carts and bundles up to 50 pounds; Able to withstand considerable walking and standing for long periods of time. Work area is hot, humid, noisy and often has wet floors.

Education/Experience:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Experience in the operation of laundry equipment; Ability to understand laundry procedures; Completion of eighth grade. Good visual judgment for determining stains, discolorations, inside and outside of garments.

MUST have telephone or equivalent means of reliable communication
