Description Work Activities/Context:

The Corporate Relations Manager will focus on growing Southwest Airlines corporate account base through effective account management and consultative sales techniques.

The primary responsibilities for this Team will be to grow Southwest Airlines market-share and incremental business with the Fortune 2000 corporations throughout the domestic U.S., establish Southwest as a preferred carrier, produce high revenue-high yield business for Southwest Airlines, and offer Southwest fares and schedules through all channels of distribution, including SWABIZ, GDS, and other unconventional distribution tools that are in place.

This position will require weekly travel, up to 60%, including overnight trips. (Territory alignment will limit overnight travel, and allow the Team to effectively manage their accounts primarily through day-trips.)

Must live in the New York area (New York, Northern Jersey, Long Island) or be willing to relocate.

These positions are virtual positions, allowing the Team to home office.

The Team will be supplied with the proper resources, i.e. sales training, promotional offers, computer, pda, etc, to allow them to successfully perform their duties.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.

Minimum Requirements Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Education:

Associates or Bachelors Degree or 1-2 years experience in airline or sales/marketing field.

Experience:

Must have 2-3 years experience present and/or past success in selling to large corporations.

Must have present and/or past success of increasing market-share and/or achieving sales goals consistently, through effective account management.

3+ years experience in enterprise level sales experience and/or marketing, and/or travel industry

Work experience in Sales, Marketing, Advertising or Communications is preferred

Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, PPT, Word)

Professional speaking experience to executive level audiences

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience working in a virtual office environment is preferred

Professional sales training preferred

CRM tool experience a plus.

Physical Abilities:

Capable of lifting boxes up to 50 pounds and assemble trade show booths that require manual dexterity with screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.

Majority of liaison is on internal basis with Team and Leaders on same level or one level higher.

Contact with Internal Employees and outside Customer representatives at various levels concerning specific phases of projects or contracts.

Participates in briefings and meetings for Internal and External representatives concerning specific phases of projects.

Must demonstrate ability to prospect and cold call corporate clients, within and outside the Southwest Airlines network.

Must have a proven track record of successful networking and achieving targeted goals.

Must be able to speak before the public.

Must possess excellent organizational skills.

Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously.

Must possess excellent leadership skills.

Must be able to communicate effectively verbally by telephone and face to face.

Must have judgment sufficient to handle and solve complex analytical travel data.

Other Qualifications:
Must have flexibility to work long hours

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance.
