Great opportunity with a Nuclear Client located in the Midwest USA for a Junior Level Engineer to perform as a Shift Technical Advisor. This position will involve extensive training and will eventually be responsible for the proper performance of functions related to plant safety when the reactor exceeds specified values. Relocation is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities Utilization of available plant information in order to assess overall plant status and recommends actions as necessary to terminate or mitigate off-normal events Provide the review of all plant operation records, logs, surveillance tests, checklists and maintenance orders and monitor for trends in plant parameters and deficiencies noted during the review, taking action to correct problems Assure that all plant equipment is operated within prescribed limits and coordinate the activities of operations with the efforts of other groups during normal operations and outage conditions Prepare operating instructions, surveillance tests and standing orders to ensure safe, efficient operation of the plant Report on the operating conditions of the plant to management, as well as to regulatory agencies.
Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BSME preferred) Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, conceive timely solutions and to work independently with initiative Strong relational and communications skills at all levels Aptitude testing will be required during the interview process to help show the ability to successfully complete the Shift Technical Advisor (STA) training program Previous experience working in a nuclear environment preferred SRO license is a plus This position will require working on a rotating shift
