Rappahannock Community College invites applications for a part time Librarian #H0048. The position is located on the Warsaw Campus.
The part-time librarian collaborates and assists the college librarian with instruction and information literacy efforts. Provides expert reference and customer service to the college and the community. Collaborates with college librarian to provide seamless circulation and access services between campuses. Proactive in collection development of college and public library materials. Collaborates with all members of the college community to contribute to student success. Duties include, but are not limited to: develop and deliver general and course-related instruction in library and information resources in liaison with the college librarian. Participate in information literacy initiatives to include assessment. Develop appropriate online instructional materials, subject guides, and web content as needed. Provide general and specialized reference and research services at the library's service desk. Collaborates to provide services and support associated with the Richmond County Public Library.
Participates in programming, outreach, community events and meetings as needed.
Successful candidate must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends.
Master's degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA accredited program or the equivalent in education, training, and experience. Strong customer service skills, effective communication skills with a diverse population. Teaching and presentation skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies associated with academic learning resources.
Familiarity with the Integrated Library System-ALEPH.
