We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Systems Engineer to join The Bradford Group’s Information Technology team! This individual will be a senior technical contributor with solid knowledge and experience in the area of server hardware/software. Under supervision, this role is responsible for overall integration of enterprise-wide systems including participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, management and coordination of the organization’s servers and networks. A general understanding of infrastructure as a whole is required as well as knowledge of: shared storage systems (SAN/NAS), Virtualization (VMware) and Backup and Archiving systems.
Installs hardware and software and/or assists other staff members with installing hardware and software, including day-to-day operations and maintenance
Develops maintenance routines for voice and network infrastructure
Troubleshoots and/or assists other staff members in solving problems or correcting issues. Trains and mentors through formal/informal methods
Consults with business units and assists them in developing solutions to business problems
Functions as a representative from the IT team for business initiated projects and ensures that Infrastructure policies and standards are followed as the project develops
Instructs and trains other IT teams in methods and procedures
Develops plans and standards for integrating new network hardware and software
Maintains an understanding of available technology and its applicability to the company. Recommends and evaluates solutions.
Generates enthusiasm among team members for administration and maintenance of organization’s infrastructure as directed by IT Managers
Assists in the facilitation of team meetings and delivers informative, well-organized presentations to sell concepts and projects
Continuously seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is required
A minimum of 5 years of computer server and network experience is required.
Microsoft server experience is a must as is knowledge of SANs, backup technologies, VMware and Linux (Novell experience will be a plus).
Strong understanding of Active Directory and how to use Active Directory as the authentication mechanism for other systems.
Networking experience required in LAN/WAN, cabling, and wireless systems
Experience with planning and designing systems, including long term plans as well as project planning
Expert problem solver

Proven documentation skills with consistent accuracy of details
Works effectively without supervision
