Columbia University in the City of New York seeks a Manager of Labor Relations who will ensure that the strength and quality of relations with represented employees advance the University's overall strategic goals and reflect sound principles of human resources management. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Labor Relations, the Manager will oversee the handling of grievances, discipline and contract interpretation; assist in the development of labor strategy; participate in the negotiation of 15 collective bargaining agreements with 10 unions and manage relationships with union leadership. S/he will work closely with the heads of the other departments within HR, and will collaborate with other University offices with unionized staff.

Requires a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in labor relations.

Knowledge of labor and employment law is essential.
Attorney or JD degree preferred. Strongly prefer experience within a multi-union environment.
