Primary Function & Major Responsibilities This requisition is for Resident RN positions at St. John's, St. Joseph's and Bethesda hospital.The one year Resident RN Cohort model allows new grad Resident RNs to acclimate to a HealthEast hospital position through clinical orientation, professional development, opportunity for clinical coaching and facilitated learning sessions.The RN serves as the key leader of the interdependent team and is responsible to achieve patient and unit outcomes by coordinating the care for a group of patients. This includes: comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on the needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; monitoring the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.Demonstrates commitment to the principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and utilizes the nursing process to coordinate outcome focused patient care and achieve the HealthEast nursing vision.Understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's theory of caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association and the HealthEast nursing patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) in order to achieve the HealthEast nursing vision.Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team and other disciplines regarding the plan of care.Identifies and documents learning needs of the patient and family and provides individualized education.Actively participates in creating and implementing, improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, patient experience, nursing engagement and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.Complies with regulatory requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices and other established practice standards, policies and procedures.Participates in the development and achievement of unit goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement).Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.Performs all other related duties as assigned.
BSN/BAN degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing BSN/BAN, entry level MSN or acceptance into BSN completion program before cohort date.
Must have less than one year of RN experience by cohort start date.Maternity Care positions require previous maternity care experience as a nursing assistant, doula, LPN, internship or preceptorship.Emergency Department positions require previous emergency room experience as a nursing assistant, LPN, internship or preceptorship.Credentials: BLS Certification AHA and Registered Nurse (RN) MN Board of NursingSpecial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Collects and analyses data pertinent to patients health or situation;Implements and coordinates care following identified plan;Evaluates progress towards attainment of goals or outcomes;Provides patient educational information appropriate to patients developmental level, learning needs and readiness, cultural values and beliefs;Identify expected outcomes and develops individualized treatment plan of care;Integrates practices that support safety, acknowledges variations in the population served, and prevents harm to patients, families, other employees or themselves;Administers medications following policies using procedures that assure the highest level of safety all times for all populations;Demonstrates behavior consistent with the standards, qualities and characteristics of professionally licensed RN’s.
