AT WILL RECRUITMENT #12021

ANNUAL SALARY:
$62,696.30 - $86,044.52 plus excellent benefits package, plus excellent benefits package, including 2.7% @ 55 PERS Retirement, employee contributes 8% of earnings the first 5 years of consecutive employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under general direction, conducts a variety of complex and sensitive internal investigations related to suspected fraudulent receipt of aid: obtains and presents facts and evidence in support of administrative actions or prosecution. Reviews case files to locate alleged violations, determines validity of allegations, and extracts case file information useful to the investigations. Locates and interviews suspected persons, witnesses, and company and agency representatives to obtain and verify information and evidence; analyzes and evaluates statements, information, and evidence obtained through interviews and investigations. Examines a variety of records to secure information concerning suspected violations; gathers and assembles reports, statements, affidavits, and other forms of evidence: uses electronic and electronic data processing equipment to collect evidence. Interprets, explains, and applies provisions of laws, rules, and regulations related to the investigation. Conducts special investigations of internal matters related to alleged fraud. Prepares correspondence and investigative and related reports. Answers Fraud Hotline calls and develops and maintains logs of calls received and status of such calls. Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates potential ability to perform the duties of the position including graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or other related field AND three (3) years of professional level investigative or fraud auditing experience with a public or private agency. Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license.

As a Non-represented employee, the incumbent must participate in mandatory direct deposit of payroll as a condition of new and continued employment.

EXAMINATION:
