This position will oversee activities on projects such as resurfacing, guardrail, structures and grade and drain projects. In this capacity, the candidates chosen, will use SiteManager to daily enter work reports, materials, and other important documentation. The selected candidates will also maintain the required project documentation. In addition to the above, the candidates selected will also assist in surveying needs, operate and/or become familiar with the survey equipments, as well as cut brush, drive hubs, stakes, etc.
Lastly, the candidates selected will also prepare and/or check estimates and prepare and check project finals. Selection Method : Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet the minimum requirements are eligible for placement on the register for hiring consideration. Group : ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL Characteristics of the Class : With the specific written approval of the State Highway Engineer, positions in this class are authorized and assigned to coordinate the work of other sub-professional engineering or structures staff and to perform routine and technical tasks in support of agency engineering programs; and performs other duties as required. Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements : Work is performed in the field.
Travel may be required. Incumbent must be able to lift, climb, crawl, carry, stand for long periods, stoop and walk long distances. Incumbent will be exposed to risks inherent to working with large equipment and machines involved with road construction. Additional Requirements : Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
