The Vice President of Ancillary Services reports to a member of senior management and is responsible for the overall strategic planning, development and direction of the health system’s ancillary service areas including but not limited to Radiology, Lab and Therapy Services. The vice president participates in the strategic planning and implementation of action plans to accomplish key imperatives and objectives essential to the organization. Responsibilities include business planning, program development and management of ancillary service lines and new initiatives. Develops and supports strong external relationships between CHKDHS, affiliated physician practices, associated committees, medical and administrative staff to sustain financial development and growth for the delivery of high quality healthcare services Effectively communicates information and plans to facilitate informed decision making. Develops processes to promote quality of service, budgetary compliance and identification of departmental direction and expectations. Attracts, motivates and coaches talent to achieve corporate goals. Develops, promotes and monitors a culture of efficient, results and customer oriented services. A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum : Professional knowledge in integrated healthcare delivery systems and management to include theory, practice and administration in order to direct planning and implementation at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Masters degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field. Approximately ten years progressively more responsible related work experience, three to five of which were in a senior level management role within a healthcare setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to direct the collection, preparation, analysis and presenting of financial and statistical data. Familiarity with financial accounting and procedures required. Demonstrated experience in business planning and development as well as the ability to oversee the creation of new sites. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills necessary. Advanced analytical skills necessary in order to organize, plan and coordinate operational activities and the development of long range business plans for responsible areas. Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license and be able to meet the insurance requirements of the hospital, if required by position.
