Old Dominion University’s Department of Music seeks qualified candidates for the F. Ludwig Diehn Endowed Chair position in Instrumental Music Education. Appointment for this senior level position will begin Fall 2011; appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The position could include undergraduate instrumental methods and materials classes, coordination of the undergraduate music education program, as well as graduate level courses.
Qualifications: A Doctorate in Music Education is required, Ph.D. preferred. The successful candidate should be a nationally recognized leader in the field of Music Education. Candidates should have previous public school and University level teaching experience as a teacher/conductor with an exemplary written or creative research background. In addition, candidates should have a proven record of building strong ties with public school music teachers.
