Assist in the daily care of the children in the Center. Assume the role of primary caregiver when replacing the primary caregiver in the classroom for lunch breaks, planning times, vacations, etc. Assist in housekeeping, organizing, food service, project preparation and other general Center activities.
Maintain safety, care and nurturing of children at all times.
Keep track of children in your care at all times.
Treat all of the children with dignity and respect.
Maintain confidentiality of the children and parents.
Account for the children in your care during the course of your shift. This includes relaying information to the parents about their child's day, giving specific information to the parents from the primary caregiver and/or from the parents to the primary caregiver as the need arises and charting all diaper changes, feedings and naps.
Write notes on the children's Daily Sheets about their day, as needed.
Attend all staff meetings and recommended required trainings.
Uphold NAEYC guidelines and developmentally appropriate practices.
Know and follow the policies and procedures of the Center, Kohl's policies and procedures and state licensing rules and regulations.
Work well with fellow associates and supervisors.
Meet yearly continuing education requirements.
Keep a current Registry certificate.
Educational background in early childhood preferred.
Early childhood I and II and infant/toddler completed. First aid and CPR training.
Health exam and TB test required.
Able to lift 40 lbs.
