As part of the Pricing and Margin Analysis team, you will perform gross margin planning and associated gross margin analytics.
You will ensure gross margin is preserved by validating the load that enters the forecast, providing financial commentary around the drivers of P&L, and ensuring the integrity of the data that is in the risk system.
This is done by working with Operations, Finance, Forecasting and Trading groups to ensure minimal margin erosion, accurate data, best practices, and effective strategy.
Perform annual gross margin planning and quarterly updates for North American Gas markets.
Perform monthly gross margin variance analysis.
Support Commercial Director in managing performance against planned objectives.
Review, monitor and report on daily positions and gross margin, ensure accuracy of reporting to management through the Gross Margin Under Contract report.
Work with Gross Margin accounting team to ensure best possible information is used throughout planned to actual process.
Ensure the data integrity of the gas load forecasting system, as well as simplify and streamline processes.
Coordinate supply requirements.
Support new market entries, as well as acquisition integrations.
Manage all aspects of gas aggregation programs.
Ad hoc data analysis and reporting.
Special projects as needed.
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
2+ years of energy industry experience, preferably in a gas retail/wholesale environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to process information from a variety of sources, understand the key insights and develop well thought out recommendations.
Strong interpersonal skills and preference for working in a team environment with all members of the organization.
Sense of urgency and proven capability to work within short deadlines with minimal supervision.
Self motivated, detail-oriented.
An effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. SQL and Access skills preferred.
