Chevron Services Company is accepting online applications for the position of Tax Planning Coordinator located in Houston, Texas through May 31, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Overview:
The Tax Planner Coordinator position will provide tax planning advice on a wide variety of tax issues affecting Chevron's businesses. The position reports to the Manager, Houston Tax Planning and Property Tax.

Position Details:
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Provide tax planning advice on a wide variety of tax issues affecting Chevron's U.S. businesses.
  • Primary focus is on federal corporate taxation, with a significant focus on certain of Chevron's international operations.
  • Interfacing with company personnel in Corporate Tax, Treasury and Legal in addition to other departments
  • Advise management of tax implications of proposed business transactions; impacts of law changes.
  • Handles complex tax issues affecting international trading of crude oil and refined petroleum products.
  • A fundamental understanding of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations is a necessity. Specific expertise in U.S. transfer pricing methods is a large plus.

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • J.D. (Law)
  • Tax analytical experience
  • Tax legal research experience
  • A fundamental understanding of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S.tax law
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Minimum 4 years tax experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
  • Tax planning experience is a definite plus

    Relocation Options:
    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. *LI-RH1

    Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
