The Senior Lead Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing software test scripts via automated testing tools in order to identify software problems and their causes. On a daily basis, this role will be developing and documenting test scenarios, test cases, and performing test executions.
This is a performance based position. Performance objectives and indicators have been designed to measure the successful candidate's achievements on a quarterly basis. The employee must meet or exceed these detailed goals as a condition of employment.
Other responsibilities include:
Design test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures using proven project management tools such as V-Cycle or Scrum methodology
Implement and support test process, policies, procedures and best practices
Plan, develop, maintain and execute test cases at all levels of testing on multiple environments
Identify, analyze, manage and document all defects, programming errors (software bugs) and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications
Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as system performance, business scenarios, or usability
Assist in test data preparation and management
Research and support the escalated issues from the functional teams and tech support
Monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes
Provide feedback and recommendations to designers and developers on software usability and functionality
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
Ensure all change management procedures are followed during testing phase
Experience in at least one large scale implementation
Experience with data conversion testing
Ability to work well in a collaborate team environment
Decipher and comprehend both business and technical documentation.
Exceptional written, verbal, problem solving skills
Must be able to work independently within a quickly changing environment and have an excellent attention to detail
Understanding of MTA Payroll & Human Resources policies and procedures
Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets
Working knowledge and use of office productivity tools (e.g., MS Office applications) and web-based applications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance testing with a major ERP product
Minimum 5 years of formal software testing experience in planning, writing, and executing functional and system tests of distributed systems within a structured software development process
Shared Services experience preferred
