Under administrative supervision from the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Graphic Communications Manager will lead the department in the overall planning of business development, financial management,creative services and client and project management. The Graphic Communications Manager is responsible for successful procurement and production of a variety of custom marketing collateral pieces including brochures, sell sheets, stationary, posters, and promotional items. Daily communication with suppliers, internal team members including Marketing and Admissions will be key to success in this role.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Being the liaison between internal stakeholders, management, agencies, and suppliers to ensure quality and on-time delivery
Accountability for gathering job requirements and performing both procurement and project management of all client projects
Work with staff to move projects forward and gain approval such as copy, brand and management approval
Implementing business development strategies which are both beneficial and economical for the department
Developing processes to ensure resource efficiencies
Analyzing and tracking revenue cost and profitability by job/project as well as quarterly and yearly analysis
Proactively presenting production solutions
Servicing student and campus ID card production
Managing a team of 4 including clerical staff. Directly, plans, assigns, and reviews work, counsels employees, and evaluates job performance
Develops and monitors budget and financial statements of operations in order to control and forecast revenues and expenses
Evaluates technical developments and equipment relating to production operations and authorizes or makes recommendations for procedures and methods to improve the efficiency of the department
Minimum Qualifications
1. any one or any combination of the following types of preparation:
(a) credit for progressively more advanced college course work comparable to that leading to a major in business administration or a related field
(b) credit for progressively more advanced college course work comparable to that leading to a major in other fields than the ones described in “a”
that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
120 semester hours (or a Bachelor’s degree) in “a” – 1.0 unit
120 semester hours (or a Bachelor’s degree in “b” = 0.75 unit maximum 1
36 months of “c” = 1.0 unit.
Amounts of experience or training less than those listed above should be converted to decimal equivalents of 1.0 unit and added together when computing combinations of the different types of preparation.
2. in addition to the preparation required in #1 , three years of (a) progressively more responsible business experience that included responsibility for the operation and maintenance of duplicating equipment or (b) progressively more responsible experience in the management of duplicating service operations (such as supervisor)
3. two years of experience supervising others. (Experience used to satisfy requirements 1 “c” and 2 that included the supervision of other can be used to satisfy this requirement as well.)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years managing business operations and working in customer service, buying, or a production management capacity
Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed
Experience excelling within fast paced, high energy environments
MBA or graduate level course work completed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Beginners knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
Technical proficiency in MS Office
