DESCRIPTION

The individual in the Assistant Controller position is responsible for performing all Accounting functions for various departments throughout Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the Accounting department and ensuring that policies and procedures are properly maintained. He or she assists the Director of Financial Accounting in regards to all resort financial affairs.

DUTIES

Supervising all accounting functions.

Functioning as the Accounting Office Manager.

Conducting department meetings as needed.

Performing annual reviews of associates.

Addressing questions and concerns of Accounting staff as needed.

Coordinating the collection and preparation of all statistical data.

Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing GL accounts.

Completing financial statement preparation and review in a timely manner.

Assisting in forecasting and overseeing expense tracking with checkbook accounting.

Assisting in the annual budget process.

Processing tax returns (sales tax, payroll, etc).

Reviewing payroll accuracy.

Reviewing the accuracy and authenticity of inventory.

Attending weekly management meetings.

Planning and implementing Accounting procedures and internal controls.

Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

Five years of experience in Accounting preferred.

Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred.

Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Candidate must have the ability to speak English fluently. Supervising all accounting functions.
