Description

ROLE PURPOSE:
Responsible for leading and managing a variety of large and moderately complex projects as assigned for a specific department or function. Takes projects from original concept through completion. Coordinates all aspects of projects, including developing project proposals, business requirements, and project scope, and ensures the smooth integration into departmental workflows.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Leads and manages projects for a specific department or function as assigned.
  • Independently takes ownership of and plans, executes, and monitors projects.
  • Prepares project proposals, develops business requirements, and establishes project scope and timelines. Coordinates appropriate project resources and personnel.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with all departments and individuals involved in assigned project, including coordinating external vendors and consultants as appropriate.
  • Ensures all established deadlines and milestones are met, and tracks and reports project status.
  • Participates in the ongoing development and support of the Janus Project Delivery Framework
OTHER FUNCTIONS: Assumes additional duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years project management experience
  • Three years experience in mutual fund/financial services industry or assigned functional unit
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • PMP certification is a plus (will be required within 6 months of hire)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
  • Overtime may be required on short notice and may include weekend/evening/holiday hours
  • Typical office environment with fax machine, copier, telephone, calculator, trading systems, etc.
