Asembler (2) Positions Contract, Possible T/P after 3 months
Day Shift 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Non Exempt
Summary: Within corporate guidelines, as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Manager, performs a variety of tasks. Primary function is to manufacture goods, and communicate instructions/comments regarding day-to-day events to ensure efficient manufacturing of products.
Functions: Perform a variety of assembler duties with Reagent Manufacturing, including dispensing of solutions, labeling bottles and tubes, setting up filling/labeling machines, checking weights of dispensed solutions, operating shrink wrapper, taking inventories, keeping records and performing related duties, under general supervision, following clearly prescribed standard practices; Assemble product kits in accordance with written specifications and procedures, ensuring lot number conformity and other quality requirements are satisfied; Set-up and operate dispenser and labeling machines of various types, make minor adjustments to machines as needed, and perform minor maintenance and clean-up duties. Includes operation of computer-controlled dispensing equipment, and the operation of computer generated labels, utilizing menus and programs prepared by others. Utilize balance to conduct weight checks; Operate shrink wrapper machine to wrap packages which includes adjusting machine temperature, belt speed, cutting action, etc., to obtain proper wrapping. Move boxes of product in area, stock shelves with specified items, take inventories of all items in storage area, and keep related records. Confirm lot number on each job with Quality Control, and process paperwork on each order/lot; Perform related duties such as washing tubes and bottles; keeping work area and equipment in clean, orderly condition; handling scrap by keeping waste segregated in proper, special containers; and moving tanks/containers to and from work areas as required; Work with computers, printers, shrink wrap machine, various hand tools, and related tools and equipment; Performing manufacturing tasks throughout various stations; verify work area is clean and free of previous products and supplies; complete all required documentation; Provide Quality Assurance with samples of products for appropriate testing, etc.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-35 pounds frequently; natural or corrected eyesight to allow accurate visual screening of small objects from 12" to 24"; ability to stand, walk, carry, and sit for 8-10 hours per day; standing, sitting, walking, kneeling for extended periods; ability to do fine and gross manipulation of objects using fingers, wrists, and shoulders; ability to push/pull large and small carts with product to and from different work areas
Qualifications: High School diploma or educational equivalent sufficient to demonstrate required competencies; read, write, and comprehend the English language; Ability to work in a light manufacturing environment; Knowledge of basic mathematical calculations including the metric system; Ability to accurately compare numeric and alphabetic codes; Ability to use weighing equipment accurately; Good interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work with chemicals, powders, etc.; Flexibility to work 8 plus hours/day, including the ability to work overtime and weekends, and other shifts/hours as needed to meet production schedules. Ability to learn computer programs and work in a Mfg enviroment around reagents and various chemicals.
