The New America Foundation seeks a Research Associate in the Economic Growth Program to help manage the day-to-day operations of the program and assist with high-level research. The program is looking for a candidate who, in addition to having a strong work ethic and research background, is passionate about engaging deeply with relevant political-economic issues. The Economic Growth Program seeks to chart a sustainable, balanced, and stable growth path through the post-bubble global economy that raises living standards and creates a stronger productive domestic economy. The goal is to analyze and promote much-needed long-term solutions and reframe the debate through rigorous research and writing.

RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on issues related to a variety of domestic and international economics and policy issues. Edit, proofread, and fact-check policy reports and papers. Plan and coordinate forums and events. Maintain the Economic Growth web presence and draft email communications from the program.

Perform various administrative duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: A bachelor ’s degree or higher. Significant background in economics and/or a related field, such as foreign policy, public policy, or philosophy. Strong research, writing, and editing skills.

Acute attention to detail. High-level knowledge of Excel and scholarly databases. An entrepreneurial, creative spirit with respect to developing new ideas. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work and manage time in order to meet multiple deadlines.
