Under direction, serves as examiner-in-charge or works independently in conducting the most complex examinations of large and problem bank in the Chicago Commercial Banking Division (Resident Crew) by applying the examination process which consists of gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and reporting information relative to specific duties. This work product is consolidated into a target or annual report. Such reports evaluate the bank's financial condition, specific areas of risk, management, and compliance with Illinois banking laws and federal rules and regulations relative to the operation of the bank, its subsidiaries, and affiliates. Resident Examiners are assigned to the largest, most complex banks.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with courses in accounting, corporate finance, banking and monetary theory. Requires three years of progressively responsible professional accounting, banking or auditing experience. Requires extensive knowledge of the Illinois Banking Act, the Corporate Fiduciary Act, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and other applicable rules, regulations, and laws governing the banking industry, and of bank examination procedures.
