This position will report to the Dimensions Ambulatory Program Director and provide administrative support to the director and managers and have additional team-related responsibilities.
- Education and formal training: High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of secretarial science program or equivalent is required with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Work experience : Five years secretarial experience. Direct experience in a physician’s office, group, hospital or formal medical setting preferred. Must be able to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing, if required.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities required : Extensive PC skills in Microsoft Office, Windows and Department specific software required. Excellent customer service skills a must. Must be able to type 60-65 words a minute. May be required to transcribe from a dictaphone. Must possess extensive problem/critical thinking skills. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent grammar and spelling skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities. Requires excellent organizational, planning and coordinating skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Must be detailed oriented and possess strong leadership skills. Requires the ability to work independently using effective analytical skills. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality, display cooperative attitude, maturity, integrity and tact at all times. Extensive ability to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative and be a self-starter.
