Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) builds Program Management talent through a one year, rotational Program Management Development Program (PMDP) designed to accelerate learning in SNC processes, tools, and business operations. The PMDP is an accelerated path to Program Management for exceptional candidates with the right mix of education and experience.
The PMDP is designed to train and mentor employees in Proposals, Contracts, Subcontracts, Procurement, Program Management, Production/Operations, and Engineering. Additional training will be provided in Leadership/Management, Audit/Compliance, and Financial Planning.
The PMDP combines formal coursework and intensive job assignments to equip participants with exceptional technical, financial and business skills. Successful PMDP participants will enjoy significant responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to business results. The program is led by senior professionals and mentors, including job shadows with Program Directors. SNC is committed to developing world-class Program Managers by providing a culture that recognizes and rewards excellence.
Upon successful completion of all rotations/required training and satisfactory performance ratings, participants will be transferred to an Associate Program Manager position according to their skill set and current job openings at all SNC locations.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited organization and have at least three years of professional work experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have additional desired experience, education and certifications.
Desired Experience, Education and Certifications:
• Engineering and Program Management experience and education
• Master’s degree from an accredited organization (preferably an MBA)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Certification
Candidates must be willing to travel for up to three months, during the 12 month rotational program, to other SNC locations to complete portions of the rotation and to relocate for final placement. This will ensure diverse experiences critical to the development and success of future Associate Program Managers.
