To support this continued growth, we are expanding our global product development team including adding a new Instrumentation Technician for 2nd Shift . This individual will support the efforts of the Technical Center by serving as an Instrumentation Technician during the evening engine cell and gas stand testing cycles.
Is responsible and accountable for gas stand / engine cell calibrations and validations.
Develops test procedures / work instructions where required to support lab.
Builds special test hardware and makes recommendations for improvement.
Supports instrumentation calibration as required.
Trains and develops Technicians in instrumentation devices.
Assists the Instrumentation department with problem solving for second shift.
Proactively makes recommendations to improve laboratory efficiency.
Responds to instrumentation problems pertaining to 2 nd shift.
Is committed to helping the department achieve goals.
Reads and interprets engineering work orders (EWOs) to determine necessary instrumentation, and test requirements for all areas of the Lab.
Maintains safe and professional appearance, habits, and work area.
Continues training to increase capabilities in both technical and interpersonal areas.
Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies .
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Associates Degree in an engineering related field is preferred with least 3 years experience working in an engine test lab or equivalent training required or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Experience in a professional automotive components test environment (powertrain systems, lab or R&D) is desired.
National Instruments Data Acquisition system knowledge required.
General manual machining and fabrication experience required.
Valid Driver's license.
Must possess strong communication skills.
Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Must be able to demonstrate Basic Computer literacy including the ability to use lab related software as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel etc.).
