Micron technology is a leader in the semiconductor industry developing and manufacturing DRAM and NAND Flash products. As part of the continued growth in NAND Flash, Micron has established itself as an important supplier for the emerging and rapidly growing Solid State Drive (SSD) market. As an SSD Product Applications Engineer at Micron, you will work as an integral part of the product support team to provide storage systems applications expertise for pre and post sales support to our leading OEM customers.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working with FAE teams to understand and provide level 1 FA for customer reported issues in a timely manner.
Working with internal engineering teams to resolve problems and communicate solutions and corrective actions effectively.
Creating and releasing product support documentation including product data sheets white papers, and application notes.
Developing, maintaining, and presenting technical training and sales material required to support products. Delivering technical training to sales, field applications engineering, and customers.
Working with design, marketing and the field applications force to define features, introduce and support products in the market.
Continually evaluating competitive product offerings and providing support material to marketing, sales, and field application engineers.
Managing and coordinating customer problem resolution in the factory.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Design, product, test, support, system, or applications engineering experience in HDD or SSD.
Systems experience, including:
Experience in SSD and or HDD failure analysis.
Operating systems (installation/configuration/management).
Device drivers & Firmware (installation/troubleshooting).
Storage devices (installation/configuration/troubleshooting).
Working knowledge of SATA, SAS or PCIe interfaces.
Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined abilities.
The ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions.
Solid personal computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Oscilloscope and logic analyzer experience.
Detailed knowledge of NAND Flash, solid state drives, and or hard disk drives.
A minimum of an MSEE (or related degree) and one or more years experience in SSD or HDD, or BSEE (or related degree) plus five years of industry experience with one of those in HDD or SSD, is required.
