Fabrication Shop Manager

CCC Group has an immediate opportunity for a Fabrication Shop Manager within our Houston Regional Office Complex. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate activities of all shop employees engaged in fabricating, assembling, inspecting, and related activities performed in an industrial fabrication shop.
DUTIES and REQUIREMENTS:
•Analyze work orders, schedules and other specifications to determine parts and assemblies requiring fabrication, modification, or repair and assist with equipment/product changeovers.
•Operate within established procedures for assembly quality, shop safety, and customer requirements.
•Inspect work output and processes to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
•Produce daily production logs and other paperwork needed to meet other production requirements.
•Perform hands-on training of new employees in work methods, procedures, and machinery operation.
•Operate and troubleshoot production machinery, as required.
•Effectively communicate with all levels of employee, management and outside sources critical to shop processes.
•Submit and monitor requisition requests for fabrication department supplies and equipment tooling.
•Organize and manage storage of fabricating department, maintain & update list of tooling locations, plan and implement removal and purging of obsolete tooling.
•Monitor employee performance and output of substandard work, and indentify defective parts, tools, equipment, and material, or other conditions that hinder the fabricating process.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, and EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory or managerial position, preferably in an industrial fabrication shop or industrial construction industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) candidates will be given preference. Must have general computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets. Must be able to perform other duties as required by the Division Manager.
