Overall Purpose: For positions in Puerto Rico use job key 49090447 Specialist Equipment Design++. For all other regions use job key 49090445. Responsible for the evaluation, procurement, design, technical specifications and support for Network equipment and storage capacity. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Prepares equipment maintenance requirements and policies, identifies and tracks equipment deficiencies and designs / implements rearrangements and improvements. Plans, organizes and functions as equipment Subject Matter Expert for equipment selection and onsite installations. Interfaces with process engineering and maintenance to develop and support new processes and applications. Sequences vendor schedules to insure proper interface and deployment. Plans and designs layout, equipment selection, HVAC (heat, ventilation and air conditioning) and power requirements, etc. Determines equipment required for storage capacity needs. Manages capital and facility expense budgets. Liaison for hardware, facility vendors, laboratories for testing and product evaluation. Job Contribution: Technical professional with limited experience. Primarily completes standard work. Small but direct impact on team.

KNOWLEDGE Has basic working knowledge of technical principles/methods within own discipline/specialty area. Integrates basic principles of discipline with processes/procedures to complete own job. Grows current knowledge of ATT technologies/systems/procedures.

ANALYSIS/PROBLEM SOLVING Solves non- routine problems applying limited judgment within appropriate standard procedures. Articulates/refines identified issues within own area. Analyzes a variety of factors within applicable standards/procedures to develop solutions. Reviews structured technical problems; independently selects appropriate methods.

INDEPENDENCE Follows established policies/procedures; plans work priorities with guidance. Assignment scope is limited. Limited discretion applied in establishing deadlines/approaches for completing own assignments.

CONTRIBUTION TO ATT TECHNOLOGY Carries out standard work to achieve deadlines. Contributes to maintaining current technologies and/or supports teams in emerging technologies. COMMUNICATION Effectively exchanges routine technical information. Actively engages with others to understand issues and gather necessary information. Presents materials/thoughts effectively one on one. Education: Typically a BS degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or equivalent related network experience.

Experience: Typically at least 1-3 years of successful network engineering or related experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role. Entry into this title may require TCP Governance Board Review.

Supervisory: No.

Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to ATT compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
