Under general supervision, installs, designs, and maintains server hardware and software including databases and security needs within the applicable environment.
High School Diploma or GED AND Two years with the types of hardware and software to be supported, one year of which included user support, user training, and/or programming.
Associates Degree or higher in related field preferred.
Six months related experience. Two years of applicable information management experience preferred.
Commanding knowledge of applicable server operating systems Windows Server and Ubuntu Server for a web-based environment. Preferred knowledge in virtualization with VMware ESXi or Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V
General knowledge of SQL database creation, input and retrieval (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
General knowledge of web server software Apache2, Tomcat6, and IIS. Server hardware involved in a full server stack implementation with virtualization.
Recommended basic knowledge of SharePoint installation.
Skill in configuring and backup of server hardware and software; to analytically design program logic or solve technical problems; in operating supported computers and peripherals. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to work effectively with clients.
