Colorado National Guard Dual Status Technician Announcement Technicians are employed under the authority of Title 32 USC, Section 709, which states, in part, that technicians are to be employed in "the administration and training of the National Guard," and "the maintenance and repair of supplies issued to the National Guard."

This position is located in the Quality Assurance function in an Army National Guard (ARNG) Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). The AASF provides flight, and flight training operations, Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported Units. The purpose of this position is to establish, develop, and implement the AASF quality assurance and reliability programs. Serves as the Quality Assurance Representative for the AASF. KEY REQUIREMENTS

Secret Security Clearance DUTIES:
Major Duties :
Develops the AASF Quality Management Plan (QMP) that documents the management and operational policies and procedures to ensure work processes, products, or services satisfy expectations and quality standards. Develops quality assessment plans to evaluate and improve quality of maintenance production and work processes. Conducts evaluations to identify strength problem areas, failure trends, faults in methods and procedures, and other deviations from quality standards. Serves as quality assurance authority in the AASF. Acts as a consultant to higher-ranking personnel on quality assurance/verification matters. Provides the Logistics Management Officer/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot and maintenance supervisors with definitive technical information and advice on maintenance procedures and techniques. Resolves technical problems in support of the quality assurance program. Serves as quality assurance authority in the AASF. Acts as a consultant to higher-ranking personnel on quality assurance/verification matters. Provides the Logistics Management Officer/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot and maintenance supervisors with definitive technical information and advice on maintenance procedures and techniques. Resolves technical problems in support of the quality assurance program. Ensures that appropriate directives and operating instructions are current and complete. Reviews incoming publications to determine their applicability. Manages the Safety-of-Flight (SOF) and Aviation Safety Action Message (ASAM) programs to ensure effective and timely accomplishment. Reviews incoming SOF/ASAM for applicability to AASF supported equipment. Monitors aircraft acceptance/transfer inspections, aircraft configurations, and component time-change requirements. Periodically reviews aircraft historical records and logbooks for accuracy and condition. Performs equipment inventories; assures proper set up and calibration of electronic weighing apparatus; monitors aircraft weighing operations; verifies instrument readings, resolves weight and balance problems, and certifies weight and balance computations. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE NOTE Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. An applicants RESUME must provide in detail how they meet each specialized experience bullet listed below. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. Must have 24 months of specialized experience in each of the following (documented in your resume):

1. Experience using applicable publications and applying them to the work being being performed.

2. Experience in the preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action.

3. Experience performing quality assurance work (i.e. performing statistical sampling techniques or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems).

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been directly related such as production management, business management statistics, industrial technology, engineering, or a discipline directly related to the specialization involved in the career pattern in the position to be filled.

Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section.

For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
