Encumbent will be scheduled 80 hrs/payperiod, P.M. Shift hours, 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. May be required to adjust shifts to meet facility needs.

Duties:
Provides professional nursing interventions and supervision to ensure delivery of quality nursing care to psychiatric residents in a long term care facility.
1. Coordinates nursing care for residents by setting work schedules, maintaining adequate staff within given guidelines, delegating staff assignments, evaluating employee performance, participating on care planning team, developing policies and procedures, adhering to budget guidelines, ordering supplies, and communicating with other departments, consultants, and outside agencies.
2. Carries out simple and complex nursing procedures independently, and performs all duties of regular staff nurse.
3. Provides learning opportunities and training to nursing staff and other departments as requested.
4. Serves on committees and attends meetings to address residents and facility concerns, promote quality standards of care, and effect changes in nursing and/or facility operation.
5. Makes ongoing assessments of residents, staff, supplies, and equipment and initiates appropriate nursing actions.
6. Assumes management of emergency situations and directs and delegates specific duties to responding staff. Ensures quarterly fire drills for facility are completed on shift.
7. As a part of facility Management, implements management decisions, and provides input for them.
8. Maintains own professional status by attending workshops, seminars, and inservice programs and by keeping current on published nursing articles.
9. Completes monthly skills observations for licensed and non licensed staff.
10. May need to work additional shifts to meet staffing needs.

Competencies:
RN, BSN preferred. Montana State licensure with 3 years nursing experience, including one year in acute care and three years supervisory experience preferred.

RN, BSN preferred. Montana State licensure with 3 years nursing experience, including one year in acute care and one year supervisory experience preferred.
