This is semi-skilled and manual labor work in performing and leading the work on parks and cemeteries maintenance equipment, buildings, grounds, and operations, working either independently or collectively depending upon the work or supervisor’s instructions. Work involves participation in the activities of Groundskeepers or leading the work of Groundskeepers and participation in the construction and maintenance activities of parks, cemeteries, and golf courses, as well as assisting with equipment maintenance and repair while working closely with Landscape Operations Manager or his/her designee. Work includes responsibility for the efficient completion of work assigned. Instructions are received from a supervisor as to general or specific assignments and established procedures and routines are followed in completing assignment. Work is reviewed by superiors while in progress and upon completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. · Lead and work with crews on construction and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including such tasks as water hookup, activation, shut down, and plumbing. · Assist with repairs and maintenance to park amusement rides, the aquatics facility, machinery and equipment including but not limited to: tractors, trucks, mowers, trailers, weed whips, blowers, snowplows, and other small engine tools. · Mow grass, rake leaves and other litter. · Load and unload materials and equipment. · Repair, install and remove playground equipment, shelters, tables, benches, signs, doors, and windows. · Excavation, general concrete work, operation of barge. · Roof, paint, clean facilities such as shelters and restrooms. · Snow and ice control and removal. · Operate trucks, mowers, tractors, backhoes, and snowplows. · Build docks and fences; place and remove docks; placement and maintenance of buoys. · Trim trees and other foliage and shrubbery; weed shrubbery and flowers. · Attends meetings. · Act as a Groundskeeper when necessary. · Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: · High School education; technical training desired. · Two years of experience in facility maintenance work and small engine maintenance. · WI Class B CDL with no air brake restriction. · Wisconsin pesticide and ornamental license desired. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in parks, cemetery, and golf course construction and maintenance. · Knowledge and understanding of aquatics facility operations and systems. · Ability to perform carpentry work. · Ability to lead and work with a small group of people. · Ability to follow written and oral instructions. · Ability to repair and maintain small engines and tools. · Ability to be a self-starter and work independently/collectively. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Motorized vehicles for mechanical testing purposes, power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle and mechanical system work; mechanic’s tools including jacks hydraulic lifts, air tools and other tools required for repairs and routine maintenance of motorized vehicles; computer, calculator, phone and mobile or portable radio.
