ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD

MILITARY GRADE REQUIREMENT: Enlisted

NOMINATING OFFICIAL: CPT Donald McCollum, Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

DUTY LOCATION: Combined Surface Maintenance Shop(CSMS), Camp Joseph T Robinson, North Little Rock, Arkansas

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an Excepted (Dual Status Military Technician) position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Army National Guard and be assigned to a compatible military position in a unit supported by CSMS in Career Management Field (CMF)91, 92, 94. Must become compatible within 12 months of appointment.

IMPORTANT NOTES (AS APPLICABLE): Upon selection for this position, individual must possess or initiate a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation. A favorable determination based upon investigative results is mandatory for this position. Failure to meet these requirements will result in termination of employment. A pre-placement physical is required if not already current. Upon selection, must complete mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training at the Professional Education Center (PEC) within six months of assignment if applicable. Individual must meet all military requirements of the position without creating a grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). KEY REQUIREMENTS

Establishes plans,schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment,tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Studies directives, modification work orders,and regulations as to their application in the unit. Designates and maintains current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator,pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type,available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported. Provides assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances(TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management. Analyzes repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures that unit CL IX accounts are funded , budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses to determine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility mission requirements. May provide day-to-day technical guidance to lower-graded personnel assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management processes. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 12 months experience,education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Experience assisting or maintaining workflow.

PLACEMENT FACTORS: Applicants should demonstrate through prior experience, education and training the following: (1) Knowledge of production control procedures and operations sufficient to collect, compile, correlate,and maintain production data. (2)Knowledge of supply procedures, maintenance operations and equipment reporting,policies and regulations. (3) Ability to utilize programs such as Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), Parts Tracker and Integrated Logistics Analysis Program (ILAP). (4) Ability to effectively utilize Installation Management Accounting Project (IMAP) for budget analysis and funding of Class 9(CL IX) requests for each supported unit to maximize equipment readiness. (5) Knowledge of current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, monitor job order status,monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, and track repair parts status. (6) Skill in using current automation programs to produce readiness reports with a high degree of accuracy.

This position with the Arkansas National Guard is a Title 32 USC 709 position, not Title 5, and as such has different Reduction In Force (RIF) criteria, certain grade and promotion limitations, and no Veterans Preference. Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer of Civilian Pay is required as a condition of employment/promotion/reassignment. Initial in-processing of new employees will include enrollment procedures. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) may be authorized in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
