Video on Demand (VOD) Content Programming Manager

Description

The Video on Demand (VOD) team manages all aspects of the VOD service offering (films & episodical TV). Such areas include product experience definition and management, content strategy and acquisition, promotions, partner relationships and day to day business intelligence. The VOD team will be measured by customer retention, ARPU and using VOD content offerings to influence retail point of sale activities.

Specific tasks:
The VOD content programming manager will be responsible to ensure the most pertinent movie and TV VOD content is surfaced to consumer's based on their personal profile and past viewing history, in order to drive ARPU and increased consumer loyalty of the VOD service. Additionally this individual would be responsible for linear programming schedule decisions of premium channel offerings. This individual will need to strategize the most effective methods to surface content, be it via technology, taste makers or a combination of both. It will be imperative for the programming manager to be able to constantly analyze audience behavior through analytics and service data warehousing, and think like an audience member. Additionally the individual will need to be able to program content offerings in a traditional VOD style offering as well as a scheduled, linear channel model.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
BS + 4 yrs. exp.; MS + 4 yrs. exp.; PhD + 2 yrs. exp. BA, Marketing or equivalent degree.

5+ years in online or linear content programming.

Desired Skills

  • Expert in online content programming strategy, with emphasis on video-on demand, but also experience in linear programming.
  • Ability to analyze audience behavior as it relates to online content consumption.
  • Capable of working with peers in content operations, content promotions and engineering.
  • Ability to work successfully across both content industry and technology industry cultures.
  • An expert in content consumption products and content distribution services.
