Job Summary: The Supervisor of Computer Operations leads a team of Computer Operators to ensure the effective use of computer assets. Plans, organizes and coordinates the use of personnel, equipment and materials to meet the university's academic and administrative needs. Ensures the safety and security of all university computer and data assets maintained in the computer rooms by adhering to security standards. Responsible for daily operations and maintenance of server hardware in two computer rooms.
Qualifications: General knowledge of PC and server hardware.
General knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems.
Thorough knowledge of print operations.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Thorough knowledge of server virtualization.
Comprehensive knowledge of KVM switches, server hardware, network switches and server cabling.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Ability to learn new hardware and software independently.
3 years experience in computer operations.
1+ years experience as a supervisor or lead operator.
