The Health Information Management Department in the College of Health Professions and Social Work at Temple University, located in Philadelphia, PA, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position, for one year. The focus of this position is in instructing undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare reimbursement, healthcare delivery, legal, ethical, and advocacy aspects of health information management, and medical terminology. In addition, this position will require coordinating the administrative aspects of the BS in HIM program including scheduling, student orientation, development of by-laws, new faculty orientation, satisfaction surveys, and fostering new internship and employment relationships.

Eligible candidates must possess a BS and MS in Health Information Management or related field, and have an additional related certification (CCS , CCS-P, CDIP, CHDA, RHIT, CHP, or CHS) although RHIA is preferred.

Candidates should have at least five years of instructional experience at the university level, demonstrated administrative experience and relationships with healthcare industry organizations, and have a strong curricular development background in an accredited HIM or HI program.
