Description of Duties:|
Under direction of the direction of the Director of Nursing, supervises, plans, coordinates and evaluated the activities of the nursing staff; supervises staff, makes weekly work schedules for Nursing Department staff, approves time off, provides guidance and training; participates in grievance hearings, recommending grievance resolutions; completes and sign performance evaluations; Assists the Director of Nursing in development, implementation and monitoring of compliance of nursing policies, procedures, performance, improvement activities in reference to State and Federal rules and regulations; makes rounds to all treatment units to provide nursing consultation and guidance to monitor nursing skills and practice; Serves as the Director of Nursing in their absence; participates on various facility and Nursing Department committees.
Education, Training and Experience:
Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois with graduation from an approved nursing education program. Requires Associates Degree in Nursing and three (3) years progressively responsible professional nursing experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and two (2) years of progressively responsible nursing experience or a Master’s Degree in Nursing . Requires ability to exercise judgment and discretion in developing, implementing and interpreting departmental policies and procedures. Requires ability to develop and maintain working relationships.
