The Associate Brand Manager will be responsible for working closely with the New Business Development Director in all aspects of business development, marketing and brand development. This individual will enjoy “wearing a lot of hats” and have an entrepreneurial attitude to help launch new business initiatives as well as help guide the re-launch of the Devine Color brand.

  • Manages broad cross functional teams and stakeholders, project deliverables, and the integration and coordination of marketing functions, such as communications, market research, digital media, and other areas
  • Assists in finding new growth areas/channels for Valspar/Cabot/Devine brands organically and through licensing
  • Assists in the development of private label opportunities with retailers
  • Collaborates with cross-functional peers to set the Devine Color brand strategy via a thorough review and understanding of the category, competitors, and key influencers and decision makers at the consumer level
  • Leads the creation and design of marketing and advertising materials for the brand/market(s)
  • Ensures consistent marketing strategies and proper branding, differentiation, messages, layout, and logos to reach target market and desired results
  • Develop monthly business reviews and suggests actions for business development
  • Partners with all functions and levels within the organization to grow organic business
  • Identify brand growth opportunities in new segments; quantify potential/develop plans for approval
  • Ensure on-going regulatory and product compliance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelors degree in related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum five years of progressive professional marketing or business expertise
  • 3 – 5 years of agency experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent strategic thinker; able to develop a clear point of view regarding future opportunities (i.e. identify what consumer un met needs are and where the category is going in the future)
  • Strong leader who is willing to be a change agent
  • Highly collaborative yet able to function independently
  • Ability to understand and articulate complicated concepts in clear, concise terms
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills and highly detail oriented
  • Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive attitude in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Solid computer skills required
  • 25% travel domestically
