Key Accountabilities

Install, configure and manage Linux servers and VMs;

Proactively monitor and maintain systems to ensure that systems are highly available;

Install, configure, and manage server software, such as WebLogic and Apache;

Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot Vertafore’s web-based applications;

Support the application development teams, providing technical guidance on infrastructure issues and coordinating application releases;

Coordinate maintenance activities with DBA, storage, network infrastructure and security teams; and

Participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance windows.

Experience and Technical Competencies

RedHat Linux and Sun Solaris system administration;

Unix shell scripting;

System analysis and troubleshooting;

BEA WebLogic application servers;

Storage management;

At least five years experience in a fast paced environment.

Experience with Oracle, Apache web server and/or Actuate iServer is helpful; and

Knowledge of networking and security concepts is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, or equivalent education.
