1. JOB PURPOSE
Provide technical support for researchers using high-performance and high-throughput computing systems.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide direct assistance to High Performance Computing (HPC)/High Throughput Computing (HTC) users regarding use of available systems, commercial and custom application software, and training materials. E/75%
DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING
Develop and maintain training materials. E/10%
Maintain current knowledge and skills in relevant areas including: programming languages, tools, and methodologies, and scientific and engineering disciplines. M/5%
A bachelor's degree or higher in computer, mathematical, physical, life sciences, or in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. Significant experience with software design and implementation is required, as is experience using high-performance computing resources to produce scientific results.

Knowledge of and skill related to parallel and distributed computing including hybrid architectures and hardware, scientific programming languages, scripting languages, commercial and open-source software packages, operating systems, and tools.
The ability to work as part of a team is essential.Skills in verbal and written communication including ability to make presentations, conduct training, and prepare documentation.
Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year. Eligible part-timers will earn days on a pro rata basis.
There will be no leave payout upon termination.
