We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Technician in our Troy, Ohio manufacturing facility.
In this position, the successful candidate will perform the following job responsibilities:
Performs problem solving in support of corrective actions for shop floor, supplier and product engineering.
Coordinates, leads and implements training programs through-out the plant. Will work one-on-one with operations to establish work instructions/procedures and train hourly workforce on said procedures. Will work with the Quality Supervisor to assess training needs and carry them through.
Work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing on procedural problems involving design, process, tooling, costs, and other areas of product quality resulting in successful defect-free launch of new or revised product/process.
Investigate and analyze process quality issues in a timely manner to support on-going production.
Develop and maintain the plant’s quality system using known accepted methods (ISO, QOS, etc.) as baselines.
Coordinate internal and external corrective action processes in order to improve internal quality metrics and improve customer satisfaction.
Lead development of required training for both the Quality Team and essential plant wide positions.
Work with Plant Management in the implementation of quality planning objectives and strategies.
Participate on process improvement teams bringing an active prevention role to quality implementation.
Develop and implement process FMEAs and Control Plans.
Trains operators in the proper use of gauges and use of SPC as a tool to measure process control.
Design gauging used to measure product performance.
Initiate and complete specific projects as requested and/or approved by the Quality Supervisor.
Perform process audits and capability studies to determine the statistical control of the process versus the intended design.
Perform supplier quality/development activities including audits, corrective actions, problem solving and supplier visits as needed during the implementation of new or review of current suppliers.
A high school degree or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be experienced in and able to use calipers, gauges, and other quality testing equipment. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
