The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate all patient interactions at The University of Arizona Health Network's
medical office locations with high quality customer service. This position ensures that patient registration, appointment scheduling, inquiries, patient check-in and check-out and all patient telephone calls are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with UAHN policies and quality standards; including site specific guidelines.
High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to communicate effectively; including proper grammar, clear diction, and courteous manners. Extensive telephone experience with demonstrated phone etiquette. Previous automated scheduling experience; familiarity with IDX is preferred. PC experience, to include basic Windows/Software utilization and efficient keyboard skills.
Cash handling experience, to include basic math skills and the ability to make change with currency. 18 months experience in a medical office that requires patient financial evaluation, significant patient telephone and face-to-face contact. 18 months experience with insurance companies and managed care plans; management of the referral process is necessary or 18 months experience in a UAHN medical office specialist position. Specialty pre-visit management, including but not limited to, surgery scheduling. Knowledge of patient admission process. Demonstrated customer service and conflict management skills, the ability to work as a team member, and train less experienced staff in front office business operations and patient financial policies.
