Posted Position Title: Sales Engineer - Energy Storage Career Level: Experienced Function Sales Function Segment: Sales Management Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: California City: San Francisco Postal Code: 94111-1905 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: The Energy Storage Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales and engineering teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities - Responsible for providing technical consultation and product support to the commercial team in all phases of the commercial process
  • Responsible for conducting in-depth, technical product presentations to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc
  • Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations, including creation of test procedures, definition of relevant regulatory requirements, installation, execution monitoring, and support of post-demonstration analysis
  • Responsible for collaborating with the commercial team and customers to identity business opportunities, define technical solutions, and convey customer requirements to the product management and engineering teams
  • Provide proposal support and take the lead in responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs / RFPs
  • Collaborate with Sales Leader to develop and support action plans to exceed sales and margin targets
  • Collaborate with other GE divisions including GE Energy , GE Renewables, GE Microgrids
  • Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership and compliance Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in vendor sales and/or sales engineering
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally 75% of the time Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Demonstrated ability to exceed individual performance goals and to work with sales personnel to achieve team objectives

  • Knowledge of Grid Connect markets including renewables, utility, energy management and microgrids

  • Intellectual curiosity and technical aptitude necessary to rapidly learn new technologies and customer applications

  • Knowledge of detailed requirements of a broad range of battery applications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, analyze, and interpret data
  • Knowledge of battery standards, regulations, and safety procedures
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in meeting project / program goals, while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Knowledge of program / project management, engineering, and product development processes
  • Fluent in one or more of the following languages: Chinese, Hindi, German, Japanese, and/or Spanish
