Title: Investment Associate Department: RetailStatus: Exempt Reports to: Director of SalesSalary Grade: 05 Position Summary: The Investment Representative will be dually employed by Unity bank and Infinex Investments, Inc. a registered broker/dealer. Member FINRA/SIPC. The Investment Representative is responsible for managing and building a successful and profitable customer portfolio. The Investment Representative will hold the responsibility of ensuring that goals are met, and the customers are engaged and satisfied with both Infinexs and Unity Banks services. The position of the Investment Representative is a robust and demanding position that will require individuals with a positive attitude, the desire to achieve all goals, a passion for the financial services industry and dedication to do what is needed to be successful. Job Duties: Business Development Assess, develop and implement strategies that contribute to the organizations overall growth and profitability. Work closely with supporting partners; Market Leaders, Relationship Managers, Mortgage Lenders, and Commercial/SBA Lenders; participating in but not limited to, blitz calling days, bank days, joint client meetings and community events. Actively enhance the financial relationship of the client by cross selling banking and/or investment products and services where applicable. Investing Expectations Active participation in the efforts of Unity Bank to enhance the relationship with its clients through access to comprehensive financial planning, educational support and sound investing. Investment Representatives are to maintain the same level of Five Star Service that is practiced in all Unity Bank offices which will include but not be limited to; prompt return phone calls, the involvement of the Relationship Managers in the progress of the client, and attentive and timely client meetings. Working with the Partners, grow the relationships of Unity Bank, through but not limited to introductions to clients within their current books of business and centers of influence. Maintain up-to-date familiarity with client portfolios to ensure consistency with client goals and identify opportunities for additional business. Employee Development Implement creative activities that will both educate and motivate the team members enhancing the working environment of all staff members. Actively coach all members of the team in the most current and successful sales activities and tactics while keeping them abreast of any and all current market and industry changes. Create an environment of active coaching to ensure that the needs of all customers are being uncovered and addressed by all personnel. Continue to participate in company and personal initiatives that will enhance and grow the Investment Representatives knowledge to ensure not only the success of their partners but their personal growth and development. Remain up to date on all industry market conditions, product and service trends, tax law changes and other relevant issues. Community Development Secure Unitys place as a premier provider of quality service as well as a strong business leader through but not limited to involvement in; social groups, networking groups and community events. Creating a network of centers of influence that positively promotes Unitys presence in the community. Using the preset budgets to plan, involve and promote Unity Banks image within the community which is served, through but not limited to; program sponsorships, strategic advertisement and charitable donations. Administration Responsibilities To achieve or surpass the goals that are set by the Director of Sales thus ensuring the growth of Unity Bank as a whole. Active participation with all activities on a Regional and Market level including but not limited to; completion of call reports, conference calls, sales meetings, cold calling, participation with promotions and market meetings. Ability to motivate people and communicate effectively through excellent interpersonal skills; strong presentation, written and verbal communication and skills to address potential and existing clients. Financial Responsibilities: Accountable for ensuring minimal loss to Unity Bank through the adherence of bank and Infinexs policies and procedures. Accountable for monitoring and adhering to budgets as assigned by Retail Administration.
Length of time and Type of Previous Education/Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 4 year College degree preferred Minimum of 2-5 years previous Sales experience, preferably in the Financial services field Required Licenses as appropriate: Series 6 & 63 required; Series 7 preferred Life Accident & Health Insurance License CFP Designation Preferred Expected Skill Sets: Computer literate with the ability to utilize all programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet and specific bank and investment related software. Able to multitask while prioritizing responsibilities and tasks. Able to communicate clearly orally and written. Highly organized, reliable and effective with management of time. Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical abilities. Capable of making decisions and sound judgment as it relates to all client, employee and bank matters. Extensive Knowledge of investment and insurance products and services and their application and appropriateness to individual customer needs and goals. Compliance with requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and other federal mandates including adherence to the banks BSA Program and Information Security Practices. Required Manual Skills: Good typing skills Ability to operate copier, fax machine, printer, adding machine Ability to travel to all branches and requested locations for client appointments, meetings and seminars.
