Building system maintenance with a focus on carpentry and painting of building interiors and exteriors; includes support of retail display and merchandising.
Cut, shape, erect, repair, assemble and maintain wood and non-wood items and structures which may include doors and door frames, structural joints, staircases, cabinets, bookcases, sub-flooring, shelving, roofing, gutters, flashing, exterior ground level walls, window frames, windows, window hardware (locks, hinges and closures), interior ceilings, walls, trim, rafters, masonry structures, tiling, sheet metal and trim.
Painting of main structures, offices, storage buildings (interior and exterior), and other structures in a professional manner so as not to show peeling, cracking, chipping, running or flaking; prepare a specific painting schedule for interior and exterior walls, floors, fire hydrants, fences, signs, ceilings, piping, overheads and structures, etc.
Performs carpentry duties necessary to construct, maintain, and repair woodwork and displays to building.
Constructs and repairs counters, benches, partitions, doors, flooring, and building framework to ensure proper and safe functions of facilities for employees, customers, and tenants.
Maintains department's equipment and tools and building's equipment and systems for safe and proper function.
Receives product and materials at loading dock and provide physical movement to designated building area in a safe and efficient manner, as needed.
Assists customers with loading of product and materials according to customer demands, as needed.
Assists with all aspects of building improvements and maintenance projects.
Complies with established company policies and handbooks.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Retail for repair of equipment, replacements, touch-ups, and furniture movement.
Contractors for periodic maintenance schedules and building systems repairs.
Tenants for facilities repairs and on-site contact.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Moderate levels of English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
Moderate levels of active listening, critical thinking, learning, coordination, instructing, service orientation, installation, equipment maintenance, trouble shooting, repairing, time management, and organization.
Low to moderate levels of decision-making, monitoring, negotiation, problem solving, technology design, and equipment selection, and reasoning.
Knowledge of finish carpentry and construction with understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Ability to read blue prints.
Safe use of hand and power tools
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of carpentry, finishing and framing with understanding of plumbing, and/or machine shop
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds; intermittently up to 75 pounds
Ability to continuously see with visual acuity, hear, and balance
Ability to frequently talk, stand, walk on level surfaces, and climb stairs
Ability to frequently have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and grasp
Ability to occasionally sit, stoop, bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
Ability intermittently crouch, kneel, and crawl, and operate hand and foot controls.
Exposure to high noise levels
Exposure to moderate to extreme outdoor temperatures
Exposure to mild to moderate indoor temperatures
Exposure to dust, chemicals, flammable materials, dirt and grease, stacked materials, high places, electrical equipment and tools.
